Oslo Metropolitan University is a public university in Oslo and Akershus, Norway. Established in 2018, it has approximately 20,000 students and 2,100 employees. It is not to be confused with the older University of Oslo, founded in 1811. Today, Oslo Metropolitan University is a modern university spanning many academic fields: from quantum physics and child welfare to journalism and cancer nursing. We are especially known for our robust and expansive academic communities within teacher education, health and social care, social sciences, design, and technology.

Petter Øyan

Professor em., Faculty of Technology, Art and Design

Petter Øyan is a Professor emeritus at OsloMet and worked/works within themFaculty of Technology, Art and Design. His work focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, and the intersection between education and professional practice. With a background in industrial and product design, his research explores how higher education can foster creativity, design thinking, and lifelong learning. He is particularly interested in how universities can create learning arenas that connect academic knowledge with real-world challenges and professional environments
