Summer School / Fall Institut

Join us

The annual Summer School (or Fall Institut, varying on the term chosen) offers students, doctoral candidates, and researchers the opportunity to engage intensively with current questions in education andsocial sciences with a focus on childhood(s), lived realities and the responsibility of the higher education sector. Designed as open and dialogue-oriented learning environments, the Summer Schools foster interdisciplinary exchange, critical reflection, and the development of individual research projects.

Thanks to the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung throughout the week, participants are invited to connect theoretical perspectives with practical experiences through workshops, lectures, excursions, and moderated discussions.

The Summer Schools aim to create spaces for constructive scientific dialogue and sustainable international cooperation, to open new perspectives on children’s lifeworlds, educational contexts, and social transformation processes, and to strengthen sustainable research networks. Within the network we are eager to learn from each others practices and experiences to expand teaching and learning practices in this field and to develop community-oriented, glocal project ideas.

Via the sections dedicated to each Summer School/Fall Institut, you can stay informed and explore the outcomes.

This website was designed in the BWS plus-project “Geographies of Childhood in Teacher Education“. The project is carried out by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung as part of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM programme for university cooperations.
