With more than 20,000 students, Copenhagen University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest higher education institutions in Denmark. Based in the Capital Region, it is one of six universities of applied sciences in Denmark.
Copenhagen University of Applied Sciences aims to contribute to the development of Danish society, its welfare and prosperity, culture, and democracy. Jesper Heidemann Langhoff is a researcher, professional developer, and educator in the didactics of natural sciences at primary and secondary school levels, with a particular focus on inquiry-based teaching in STEM and education for sustainable development in climate and environment in Denmark and abroad. His work connects science education and STEM didactics with the development of teacher education, emphasizing research-based teaching, professional learning, and practice-oriented educational design.
His academic and professional profile is marked by a sustained engagement with sustainability education, place-based education for sustainable development, and community-oriented learning. He contributes to the development of Sustainability Week and participates in KP’s cross-disciplinary Green Education initiative, while also serving as a coordinating member of the R&D team for STEM pedagogy. These roles underscore a practice-oriented approach that connects disciplinary knowledge with broader societal and ecological concerns.
